Definition

Pregnancy is the fertilization and development of one or more offspring, known as an embryo or fetus, in a women's uterus.

In many societies’ medical or legal definitions, human pregnancy is somewhat arbitrarily divided into three trimester periods, as a means to simplify reference to the different stages of prenatal development.

Studies from South Africa have found that 11–20% of pregnancies in teenagers are a direct result of rape, while about 60% of teenage mothers had unwanted sexual experiences preceding their pregnancy.

Some of the pregnancy of teenage girls are associated with a family member, like stepfathers, uncles and fathers. One of Five fathers admitted to forcing girls to have sex with them.
